Table Plus macro: When the Jira issues macro is used within the Table Plus macro and for the numeric fields if the column formatting is set as:

  • Column type: Integer / Numeric and float values [F]

  • Total type: Average / Average(ignore zeros and blanks)

The Total type for Average works fine and returns the correct total (average) value every time you refresh the Jira issue macro on the confluence page. Previously, the total (average) was returning different values upon each refresh.

Version 8.8.4

Release-Datum: 07 May 2025

Release date

Our team is thrilled to announce the latest release of Advanced Tables for Confluence, version 8.8.4.

Enhancements

CSV and JSON macros now support JVM proxy connections

With JVM proxy connections support in version 8.8.4 and above, the CSV and JSON macros can retrieve data through proxy connections.

However, you can encounter rendering errors when accessing data from external sources. This occurs because the Confluence Allowlist settings take precedence over the Advanced Tables for Confluence > Global Configuration > Restrict URL Access settings.

  • Resolution: To ensure the macros function correctly with external URLs, perform one of the following actions as a Confluence Administrator:

    • Option 1: Add the required external domains to the Confluence Allowlist.

    • Option 2: Add the parameter to the Confluence instance startup option and restart the Confluence instance. Use this option carefully, as it disables host restrictions for all outbound requests.

      export CATALINA_OPTS=-Dnet.request.allow.all.hosts=true

Our team is thrilled to announce the latest release of Advanced Tables of Confluence, version 8.8.5.

Bug fixes

The following bugs are fixed in this release:

  • Previously, users were able to upload and use .xls files in the JSON Table and CSV macros. This incompatible behaviour resulted in excessive memory consumption and OutOfMemory errors, making the Confluence instance unstable.

    • The issue has been resolved, and a file type validation check has been implemented in the JSON Table and CSV macro. The macro displays an error message if the uploaded file type is not in the supported format.

    • Now, the JSON Table macro supports only .json files, and the CSV macro supports only .csv files.
